I have a friend who lived in Europe for several years, and she was born in Germany. Her dad was/is in the army - mainly, usually in Europe for some reason. He's in Iraq right now though... ANYWAYS - I'd always talk to her on the phone when she was there and she said she hated it. She always said the people were dirty (they are everywhere) and that it was really hard to get to know people there, because they have an entirely different soceity - even where people speak English. Hm... I'd still love to go visit there though, visit where the Berlin Wall once was, visit all of the Hitler stuff... ya know. I swear, you're bringing up the funniest children ever... I have a sis in law there too. She says the cultural differences were drastic..she is still adjusting and she has been there for 2 yrs. I want to check out all the Hitler stuff too..it's amazing to me that some people think it didn't really happen at all. Speaking of my kids..they watched a Rancid video with me yesterday and now my son wants a mohawk like Lars...LMAO! My husband will pass out! I have super cheap long distance only .9 a min to Germany..its pretty sweet! It will be awesome to be able to send her pics over the net though. She has never seen my kids. And the webcam too!
